Overall Review: Expect to troubleshoot this and download the Asus armory. Maybe some other people were lucky and had a very easy install, but I had nothing but issues. This board refused to connect to the internet even being hard-lined. The board accepted an update via USB and got it connected for a fraction of a second and then I lost connection and it rolled back to a previous version. At that point, it wouldn't accept a manual update via USB and it wouldn't recognize troubleshooting at all, and WIFI completely disappeared from the device manager.. I had to contact ASUS to help get this unit rolling and it came down to fresh install Windows 11 and installing drivers via Armory. This was the only way that the ASUS rep and myself could find to remedy this issue. I'm by no means an expert but I've built 5 computers and am not a stranger to troubleshooting or working through problems. This was a MASSIVE pain and the frustration was real. For the more experienced person, I would recommend this board, or if you haven't built before I would get with a friend who has a decent amount of experience building. Otherwise, I wouldn't recommend this to a beginner.

Pros: Excellent layout and it's a beautiful board. Worked right out of the box. 4xm2 slots. Memory over clocked well. Both EXPO and XMP!

Overall Review: First thing you need to do is flash the bios of this board. Do that before you install any memory or ram. It supports independent flash option. Its documented well in the manual. I think if more people did this first you wouldn't see many of the bad reviews here. The latest BIOS updates from ASUS take care of the potential CPU burning issue. I love this board.

Pros: Lots of m.2 slots(4 totat), 2 have PCIe gen 5 support top 2 slots, bottom 2 slots are gen 4. 4 SATA III ports for those still running SATA SSD's (like me). Heatsinks on all m.2 slots. Built in WiFi and BT. Supports both D.O.H.C.P (Intel XMP Profiles) and AMD EXPO memory.

Cons: WiFi and Ethernet ports not recognized when installing a fresh copy of Windows 11. no quick connector adapter for the front panel buttons 1 USB 3.2 gen 2x2 type C front panel port 1 USB 3.2 Gen 1 19 pin front panel port (cases with 4 FP USB port will need an adapter card). Expensive

Overall Review: I've used Gigabyte boards for a long time and switched to Asus for my last 2 boards and was impressed with their quality. This new board is no different, yes there are some teething issues like Windows not recognizing your WiFi or Ethernet adapter on a fresh install (either have drivers handy during install or USB tether your phone to setup Windows). CPU install it felt a tad scary when I closed the retention clip, felt and sounded like I was breaking something, there was this very audible creaking sound when locking the retention clip and it was very stiff as well (double checked everything was seated properly before locking the socket retention clip), no issues on boot up or testing. XMP profile took a minute for me to find, it's on the EZ Mode page in the lower left corner, and just above the memory settings in the advanced tab of the bios (I felt dumb for not seeing it the first time...I even clicked on it!) Motherboard priced for this gen (AM5) have gone way up in price compared to previous generation boards this is unfortunately and cost of being an early adopter coupled with companies still dealing with supply chain issues and global inflation. But it's a great board and a perfect fit for the R9 7950x, has a lot of features you'll want without breaking the bank.

Pros: Good DAC for high end sound. Nice aesthetics (esp. for a white build).

Cons: The instructions for the EZ flash bios update suggest green light will flash 3 times or stay on continuously. Yet, my board decided to intermittently flash 5 times and then green and back to flashing. So what did that mean? Its not in the instructions.

Overall Review: I love the looks and functionality of the board and the great sound. But, I hate setting up a new MB that requires an internet connection, yet do so without LAN or WiFi, or, as I later realized the USB wouldnt recognize the WiFi driver either. For hours I worked, read forums, worked, and read more forums--- after following many rabbit holes, I eventually emerged with the driver loaded. I have no idea which fix worked. It might have been sweat+tears yielded an empathic response from the MB?

Pros: Easy to set up, upgrade the BIOS, no problems with Win 11.

Cons: I installed 2X16 memory from the Asus QVL that is supposed to assure compatibility. F5-6000J3038F16GX2-TZ5NR With EXPO disabled, it boots up very fast in a few seconds. With EXPO enabled it gets stuck in BIOS for at least a minute and then boots up normally. The Task Manager reports the correct lower speed (4800) with EXPO disabled and the correct higher speed (6000) with EXPO enabled. The memory appears to work well in both settings/speeds, no BSOD or other problems. I tried all the EXPO settings available on the BIOS. Cleared CMOS. It looks like either the memory on their list was never tested, or it needs one more BIOS upgrade

Overall Review: The problem was the BIOS settings. After searching I found out that two settings made the difference. On the top of the BIOS page there is a search function. Search "POWER" select: Power Down>Enabled Search "RESTORE" select: Memory Context Restore>Enabled, select: Restore AC power Loss>Last State, select: Memory Context Restore>Enabled Good Luck.

Pros: Advanced bios, Beautiful layout of the board. Comes with a sheet of various ROG stickers for your case. Runs like a topnotch Motherboard. Make sure you buy compatible ram, check their website. ASUS ROG RYUO III 360 for the 5900x worked perfect for the 7950x keeps it way cool while loaded up gaming. AI

Cons: None on the motherboard. But Windows 11 beta testing may mess up AUSU software

Cons: - I think ASUS' implementation of the ALC4080 codec is, simply put, shockingly bad. - X670E chipset lanes mean nothing if you can't access them (PCIe slots don't have the connectivity to access all lanes and M.2 configs can cut off some slot function).

Overall Review: TL;DR: It has been my experience that ASUS' implementation of the ALC4080 codec on this motherboard is bad. This can lead to serious sound quality issues. I think you're better off elsewhere. I run an optical cable from the S/PDIF out of my motherboard to a DAC (for better electrical isolation) and then to a solid state amp via XLR. I have had no issues with this setup using any other motherboard but this one. On both Windows and Linux, I experienced significant issues with audio dropping out for a few moments at a time at unpredictable intervals. The first time I experienced this, I wondered whether the content I was listening to was from a bad source. I tested other sources of media from online videos to games to FLAC files; all of them experienced audio drop out. Not only this, but when I attempted to talk with some friends on Discord, they couldn't hear me. As it turned out, I had to crank the gain on the rear analog mic input about as far as it would go to get decent volume. Disappointed with these results, I did some searching online and learned of how many people experience issues with the ALC4080 codec on this motherboard. Warped audio, drop outs, exceptionally low volume of analog inputs, all of my issues were mentioned. Fool that I was, thinking that an audio standard which has been around since the 1980s and successfully implemented in everything from high-end audio separates, to portable CD players, and probably even toasters, would work without issue on this ASUS X670E motherboard. Thus begins the customer service saga. I contacted Newegg, who told me that because I was just outside of the return window (I had been waiting on a CPU which had gotten delayed, causing me to only have a few days of overlap where I had both the CPU and the board, followed by a few days of testing to determine the board issue), ASUS was really pushing for them to not accept the return and to instead direct me to their customer service. A bit strange, but I can understand this, since I was technically outside of the return window. I contacted ASUS and they told me they were willing to let me RMA the board. Here's the thing: if I RMA the board, and they replace the codec with the same codec, how does this solve my problem? After repeatedly pointing this out, ASUS offered me an advanced replacement, but I still can't see how this would solve anything, considering the possibility of a fundamentally botched codec implementation. I asked about what would happen if I got the board back and the issue persisted and was told something vague about a "warranty on the repair," which is apparently different from the motherboard warranty. Clear as mud. I've looked online for solutions to my problem, but even after digging around for hours and trying a ton of stuff in the Linux terminal, I remain cooked. So, here I am, clacking away to let you all know not to purchase this motherboard. I would definitely not purchase this, or any other ASUS product, again. Potentially bad implementation of a motherboard component is one thing. Repeated poor customer service interactions is much worse. Based on my experience, I advise steering well clear of ASUS motherboards which use the ALC4080 codec if you have even a passing appreciation for sound.

Overall Review: I thought I would give it a go now that they've had some time to correct issues. I was having some issues with setup and attributed it to my first build on the new platform. Figured AMD must be a little buggy as I'd heard about long memory trainings and whatnot. I plugged my Ethernet cord in and HOURS later I finally got the system to boot. It will not run RAM at the advertised speed on the QVL. Also anytime I tried to restart the computer to check the BIOS, update windows, troubleshoot, etc it wouldn't actually shut down. It started the shutdown process then would hang and wouldn't actually reboot. I had to manually power it off every single time. When you're trying to troubleshoot and test the RAM speeds that can be a massive pain, but I finally got it working and decided to just deal with the odd behavior. Fast forward a month when I wanted to play a game using a controller. Bluetooth wouldn't connect or work at all. Multiple troubleshooting steps and hours later I finally gave up with driver updates/reinstalls and reinstalling Windows 11 entirely. I plugged the controller in and dealt with the next oddity. A few months later I was having connection/speed issues. So I decided to start troubleshooting the Ethernet cord by going wireless to see if the connection and speed issues remained. Well, now I found out that the wireless chip on the board is completely non functional. Oh, and its past the return window and RMA window it seems. Now I'm stuck with a barely functional motherboard that only looks pretty. I have to resort to either buying a brand new motherboard and rebuilding my rig or buying a wifi/bluetooth dongle (not even a wireless card) because the Graphics card is a 3.5 slot card and is blocking the other PCIE slots. I don't know if this is a common issue with the board, but I did find out that the RAM issues are VERY common. Buyer Beware and REQUEST RMA RIGHT AWAY FOR ANY ISSUES YOU SEE AS SOON AS YOU SEE THEM.

Pros: -Looks nice? -When it did work, I didn't have any problems to troubleshoot.

Cons: -First board was DoA -Second board died within 45 days.

Overall Review: Looks like ASUS is back on their quality control failure nonsense again, because I'm pretty sure the second board also shorted out my RX 7900 XT in the process of its death. Looking to another manufacturer for a new board after this. Deeply frustrating, and expensive failures.

Pros: Super advanced technology, Next-level hardware!

Cons: Hard to get properly calibrated, even using there recommended RAM! Even with XMP, the best I can get from my Kingston 64GB 6000MT/s DDR5 CL40 DIMM (x 4) FURY Beast White, is 5,600MT/s!

Overall Review: This motherboard has issues with its POST. I've updated the BIOS to multiple versions to support the 9000 series CPU and none of it worked other than the beta one they released on 12-Feb-2025. It did its POST, then installed Windows 11, and when powered off and turned on again for updates, the motherboard refuses to POST again. I've tried putting it back to bare minimum with 1 RAM, no GPU installed and still nothing. I give up and will be returning this board which is sad because I've had high hopes for this particular board.

Overall Review: Great product worked on first time setting up everything and havent had any issues whatsoever doing bios flashback and setting up windows was a breeze plus has easy to see where your usb headers , cpu fan slots , aio header etc is my build is a ryzen 9 7900x , 4080 super , PSU 1200watt pf3 themaltake , 64 gb corsair vengeance ddr5 ram, nzxt f120 360mm fans , nzxt kraken elite rgb aio , and thermaltake core p6 case

Pros: Everything worked well. Heat sink covers for the M.2 slots, all 4. Don't buy M.2 with heat sink attached. Onboard WiFi is better than old WiFi card. So one less thing to install.

Cons: I bought one from from another vendor (whose name starts with A) that arrived with degraded function, A2 only ram slot that worked. Bought this one from New Egg, everything worked fine. It took 4 hands to install the video card in both of them...tight squeeze.

Cons: HORRID Intel i225-v 2,5Gb controller...DEAD within a month. LUCKILY the WiFi 6e controller is still working... Why if AI Suite even still an option at this point? It's been trash and deemed unusable for how long now? The fact you straight up have a dedicated "AISuiteUninstaller" in the downloads should tell you all you need to know(even though it doesn't work)...Had to use Revo+ Uninstaller just to rid my old PC of the cancer that is AI Suite.

Overall Review: Not even a month into owning this board I upgraded to 1gig internet...ran fine the first day(wired) I got the 1gig installed.....woke up the next day excited to download and run some more games.....Suddenly my LAN controller was nowhere to be found. Tried using Armoury Crate to reinstall drivers..NADA... Tried downloading the drivers directly from the Support page of Mobo....NADA. I can execute the .exe but when I click "Yes" to allow changes...nothing happens... N no, it's not "hidden" in device manager...spent about 8 hours doing nothing but troubleshooting. Finally got ahold of someone from Asus customer support...very brief description of what was going on and they didn't even hesitate to say "send it in for repairs". Nah....I paid $420 for this board(which i see on sale for $390 atm-.-)..I should NOT have to send it in for repairs less than a month into owning it.... Very disappointed w/ Asus lately....got rid of my Rog Strix 6700 as well... Gonna return this and hopefully find another board that doesn't run i225-v controller(SHOULD be at least i226)....but would rather go with RealTek...

Overall Review: So I decided to surprise my GF with a new Ryzen system for Christmas! Mostly because she's a ryzen fan girl and I thought it'd be nice to get her the latest and greatest! She was excited to open up her pc parts early and when tested out the pc ... D-RAM light on the motherboard popped up and that's where our issues would start and just ultimately stay. We tried everything! Replacing the PSU with a nicer and better one, changing out the ram and rearranging its configuration, using a new boot drive/m.2, and trying out all its configurations. Changed the case housing to see if maybe there was a grounding issue, re-seating the CPU if we didn't have it right. New CPU cooler to see if that wasn't properly cooling it. Now we're trying our hand at Asus customer service to see if they can take a look at it. But even then it wasn't easy to get someone to help us and even had someone tell us they couldn't help us at all. Surprising since I've only had good customer service myself. We're still waiting for someone to contact us after a week and hope they can help us out.
