Shipment will arrive, but you will pay import fees, they will not replace a unit for you and will not response without escalation

TL;DR - If there's no problem with the unit, the shipping seems fast enough. However, they do not pay UPS the more expensive shipping which handles the duties/customs. That will be passed onto the consumer. Instead they downmark the value of the unit, which means there's less import tax. Basically anything over $100 CAD in value will for sure get taxes collected on. If it's less than that, then there's a chance it won't have taxes charged (e.g. not worth the effort). If you need a replacement (because you bought it on sale), good luck, you won't be getting one. If you are thinking of buying 1 unit, you can chance it, but if you plan to buy many units, then inevitably, you will run into one of the same problems I ran into. I would not recommend buying from this seller. This is unfortunate as they have good prices and I would've considered sourcing many of my future NUCs from them. (Of course this we are still attempting to resolve this, so if things change, I'll update. But for now, 1-star.) Context: --- All NUCs (as far as I can tell) advertised by this seller claims that "Fees for brokerage and duty included in price.", however when my NUC arrived, UPS charged me for brokerage and duties. Upon discussion with NewEgg, they advised for me to pay the customs and remit the receipt for reimbursement. I also asked the Seller about this and they also replied that they will pay for the taxes. However, so far I have not gotten any reimbursement for the import taxes. I have also not received any other communications from them despite trying until I escalated. This unit happened to be faulty so after talking to a NewEgg agent who said that I can ask for a replacement (e.g. return the unit and a new unit will be sent). This seemed like the fastest option (and I also bought the unit on sale -- the sale is now over) so that is what I proceeded with. However, instead of replacing it, they kept changing it to "refund". I had to follow-up for several days to ask about it, which prompted the agent at the time to change it back to replacement. I double checked all the autogen e-mails and transcripts I had to make sure that I requested for a replacement and that the agents also requested for a replacement. -- indeed they did. This was not my fault here. But nonetheless, the seller (w/o explanation) changed it back to refund each time. After almost a week, I had the situation escalated. That prompted a supervising Agent to follow up with the seller in a message about the replacement that is also cc'ed to me. This prompted the seller to immediately issue a refund. So instead of following up by doing the right thing (send a replacement as asked), the seller continued down the path they were headed. They still haven't paid my duties yet. The supervising Agent tried to come up with reasons for why the seller might issue a refund instead of a replacement (like maybe the seller doesn't have any more inventory right now, but I can clearly buy this unit again and have the same estimated shipping window as when I first bought it based on their listing). No matter the situation, it doesn't excuse the seller from not communicating this. They just simply changed it from replacement to refund without notifying me. After escalation, they started responding to me, but now they are claiming that I either didn't return the unit and that refund was the only option available. They are also claiming they already prepaid duties and customs. Whatever the case might be, I did not do anything wrong. I asked about everything before proceeding (with transcripts for it all). Someone is lying here. Either NewEgg misrepresented information or the seller is not adhering to their obligations to the NewEgg marketplace rules -- and is also not acting in good faith. Whatever the case is, this seller is shady as hell. (e.g. I would have rejected the shipment from UPS if I wasn't assured the duties was paid and then I would have followed up w/ NewEgg or my credit card company to have my refund issued instead.) The unit also came with scratches and the box was opened. I realized later that they opened the box to put the USA power cord in, but now you cannot tell if the unit is new or opened before. The scratch I cannot explain as the power cord was in a padded bag, but it's possible something was loose in shipping and banged around on the outside (in my case, it might have been the HK power plug -- I don't think it was put in the right compartment). I suspect all units will be like this (e.g. box seal opened), so you can no longer tell if you have a new unit or not. Buy with caution, you might not be getting a new unit as advertised and they can plausibly deny this by saying they had to open it to put in a power cord. This issue is still on going, but my confidence that it will be resolved properly is very low. I will update this review if anything changes. Their final score depends on their effort.
