Once I plugged it into the external hard drive enclosure then plug the USB cord into the port it worked wonderfully. The only bad thing I could really say about it is that I did not see any option for an internal SATA cable that either comes with the drive or one I could add to the cart when I was looking at it and checking out.

wd red drives are my staple for my NAS QNAP devices. lasting and reliable. HGST was my preferred drive because cheaper. but WD cancelled the brand after buying company. so now i buy WD Red or Toshiba NAS drives for my NAS. depending on price on any given day.

The drive has a lot of space and is a good value in that respect. It's easy to set up and use like any external drive.

Despite R_Volution not listing these drives as recommended for their players; they have been working fine on my 8K Pro player.

Received drive where it was in a frame in center of box which was in a semi secure Newegg box. Plugged in drive into old mediasonic probox that was rated for 8tb drives. Worked fine. Ubuntu says you have to format that 16tb size as GPT and that worked fine. Over 14tb usable space. Temp of drive is similar to my 4 and 8tb WD red drives and is much cooler than the 10tb WD Plus drive. Speed was high at around 200MB transfer rates. Noise was slightly higher than the 4tb WD drives, but still low. Drive is new, not used, not recertified. Manufacture date is March 2023 which is when the warranty starts, so not very long ago.

(I delayed this review until I had extensive experience with the item.) Works great! installation was straightforward, product was new and under full warranty, as verified on the Seagate website, providing 200Mbps data transfers. Delivery was timely as well.
