Nothing to dislike about it, definitely a great component to my build.
Interesting motherboard. Did you notice the two vertical m.2 slots (4 total)? They are slower slots, but a cool way to easily add a bunch of nvme drives.
It works. I've had the best luck with MSI boards working and not having to return them.
Very happy with this Intel Proc Motherboard! First my Intel board, many years I use AMD boards. Now I found out, this is not so bad and maybe is better like AMD boards. Like Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth on the board, also I have THUNDERBOLTM4 8K on board. With Intel Core i7-14700K and 48Gb Ram I have 5540Ghz!
-I like the white PCB it looks great. -Matches all my other parts. -ZERO issues with crashing on the 14th gen before or after the 0x129 microcode update (I optimized the BIOS myself before anything). -BIOS is easy to use in order to stabilize the 14600K I am using. -Great DDR5 Speeds
best looking motherboard sub $ 300.00 for a Z790 to match my black/white build 4 Nvme and tons of connections no issues out of the box with 13700k, and no issues after BIOS update XMP profile worked with no issue
- Plenty of ARGB and fan connections - Plenty of USB ports, with all the rear-panel ports being USB 3.0 or higher. Some other boards have half the rear-panel ports being USB 2.0 - Nice size heatsinks and a heatpipe connecting the ones around the CPU for the VRM phases - 5x M.2 slots with 1 supporting PCIE 5.0 and double-sided M.2 with thermal pad for both sides - Looks great and the RGB MSI dragon logo is a nice touch - Mystic Light RGB software works well, no crashes and applies the changes rather fast - Excellent OC options and performance - Hardware on/off switch on the board to disable RGB lighting. I prefer having the RGB lighting, but I appreciate that this was included for those that do not want it.
Board works great
M.2 slot lga 1700 everything is great even has a c port slot which is nice idk what I would use it for
Works great as advertised. No issues out of the box. Rtx 4090 with i9-14900kf.
Its perfect
I recently upgraded my PC with the MAG Z790 TOMAHAWK MAX WIFI motherboard, and I've been quite pleased with it. While it might not be the absolute top-of-the-line, it's been a dependable workhorse for my gaming and daily tasks. The performance is strong, the design is simple yet stylish, and I've found it to be a great value for a mid-range system. It's become the heart of my gaming rig, and I'm happy with the results.
easy to install worked well to over clock Be sure to use secondary ram slots for fastest speeds 4 M.2 slots... I need more money to fill them fully!
Durable The ez debug led saved my life
Bad az MB! Period. PCI 5 memory is unreal. 28 gigs from one partition to another in like 20 sec. seriously. I installed 15 gigs of drum wav files in under 30 seconds. It is FAST. Had everything I wanted at a great price. Everything went together with out any problems. Fired up first time. BINGO. oh and it stays nice and cool. Go Asrock, my first board from you guys and you nailed it! now get a real web site for support lol.
Used this in a new build upgrading rom an ancient 4th gen to a new 13600k. This mb is a direct replacement for the old asr z97m pro 4 (except being AT and newer, ofc!) which served me trouble free for >10yrs. Once again, thrilled w/ their mbs; just worked. I picked ram off the QVL and it spotted the exp profile right away, and everything works. Even the basic built in control for rgb/argb (not my thing, but it's there) works w/ 2 headers of each type and u can set everything separately or all same.
Simple setup, worked and updated itself on first power up zero issues thus far. Massive heat sinks everywhere running benchmarks so far everything has been optimal. Nothing over 70c at 100% on processor, board, or video card. Wish I had known before hand they had heat sinks installed on the M.2 sockets for M1 M3 and M4. Wouldnt have had to buy memory with heat sinks. This is more positive than negative hence the pros column.
- Good price that is barely more expensive than a Z690 Motherboard - Very solid construction and has almost the same overclocking potential as $500+ motherboards. I was able to push my 13900K to 6GHz (for two P cores) using just Noctua D15s. You still need a 360 AIO to avoid throttling when running Cinebench or Prime95 though. - Great DDR5 memory support. I used a G.Skill Ripsaws 32GBx2 DDR5 6000 CL32 Kit and this mono can easily overclock the kit to DDR5-6600 with the default XMP timing. But 6600 is the limit, consistent with MSI's official spec that the max frequency for dual rank DDR5 is 6600 (this seems to be a limitation even for the most expensive Z790 mono). - No coil wine at all. - LAN and WIFI/BT all use Intel chips and are the best on the market.
