- Works with Pi 5 - Not too pricey
- capacity - speed - price/ performance - reputation - design, style
-Has a LOT of space - I putted a dozen of huge games in it and still has 1,5 Tera
Bought this a as replacement drive for a Dell Inspiron 3793. No problem installing, fit perfectly where original 2TB HDD was installed. I now have enough storage capacity for everything I now have and still have enough storage for additional files. Laptop is much quieter and quicker responding. Coupled with a 2TB NVME SSD, I don't need an external drive (except for backing up) and can just grab the laptop and go, having everything available.
Supa fast Easy to install Great upgrade from sata ssd
the included heat spreader looks and feels nice
The king of value.
Works as intended very fast
I was able to get speeds as advertised in various synthetic benchmarks, although real world performance will certainly depending on workload. I will say, I could not tell the difference when loading apps or games from this drive versus the other (primary) m.2 drive in my system. When transferring large video files from one drive to another in local testing, I was getting around 2GB/s consistently. The components that make up this drive and the controller are all well known and tested parts that will live up their read/write cycles. Free Acronis software download is included if you are cloning from another drive that will remain connected to the system (at least during the cloning). Others have listed as not having a heatsink as a con. At this price point I would not consider that a con. Some motherboards (including mine) have integrated heatsinks that cover these types of drives once installed. Regardless, it is unlikely you will find the drive beginning to throttle due to temperature in real world usage. If you are in data science/ML or know that you will be hammering drives and need it to be reliable, it would make sense to add an aftermarket heatsink. The instructions listed at https://www.crucial.com/support/ssd/ssd-install/ssd-install-steps-m2/part-1-prepare are a great addition if you have not installed or replaced a drive like this before.
The 12000 mbps read and write is definitely worth it was kinda sketched out at first but the 4Tb version was absolutely worth it
The Crucial T500 Pro M.2 SSD offers impressive performance, JUST LOOK AT THESE Crystal Mark scores!! A solid choice for upgrading your storage solution. With blazing-fast read and write speeds, it significantly improves system responsiveness and reduces load times for applications and games. Its build quality and features scream 2024 top of the line gaming. If you want the very best but can't upgrade all at once without breaking the bank, this is a great option for that dream upgrade. In fact it's the best bang for the buck in today's market. My Specs: Ryzen 7 7700x Nvidia rtx 3800 128gb DDR5 ram
I installed it in an older HP Notebook computer and it made it run just about as fast as the newer computers of today. I am very satisfied with my purchase.
-great sequential read/write speeds
Love the density... I was able to reduce the number of SATA III SSDs by using this single 8TB drive. Samsung products have been a key part of my home PC builds for years now, and I've yet to have any issues whatsoever.
Easy set up. Works as it should. My second SSD by Kingston and both gave new life to older PCs. Good bang for your $.
Great value
This is the best NMVE drive I ever bought.
Fast and reliable
FAST. Like, really fast. No hassle, just connects and works.
