After buying a new computer and having at least 5-10 power outages a year where i live buying a UPS was a must. While i haven't had any full major power outages yet i have had a few flickers here and there and the power goes down to 99% so its seems to be working great.
Worked great for an Lenovo Thinkpad on a 16 hour round trip ride in the car. Unit stayed at a reasonable temperature and provided consistent power.
- Power conditioning! I can't tell you how many people I know who have had high priced gaming rigs destroyed by low and high voltage spikes. You need some sort of power conditioning to keep your stuff safe! - Hot swappable batteries. I love this. No need to shut down when you have to swap out the battery, and the unit provides a level of conditioning even without the battery, so no need to worry if you fumble replacing it for a few minutes. - Small footprint. These units get smaller all the time, and yet still offer the same level of protection and number of outlets. - The Cloud! I know, it's a marketing term, but it's really nice to scan a code and be notified when you have power events. You still have the option to hardwire this thing, but why?
This thing has severed my glory for years and would recommend it. Being a computer technician, i know what i want and what i need and this device fits multiple uses for various equipment.
1U and Rackmount - The battery fits perfectly in a 1U slot on my rack, and is narrow enough to work with most rails. The handles can be optionally attached if you need an extra 1/4-1/2" of thickness depending on your rail kit, allowing it to be compatible with even more kits. Front Panel LED is easy to read, not too cluttered with useless icons. The uncovered button changes the info displayed, cycling between Input Voltage, Output Voltage, Battery Run Time (Minutes), Load Capacity (in %), and Battery Capacity (in %). 6 outlets on the back panel: 4 battery/surge and 2 surge-only. There are additional ports (USB, serial, RJ-11/45), but I didn't use those, so not sure how well they work.
Value, quality and it works.
The extended power cord, and the standard Six Outlets
CLEAN POWER, Smooths out dirty power into pure sine wave clean power for your PC and electronics. PROTECT your STUFF. Surge protectors can't protect you from Brown Outs, when power drops to 90 volts for a moment. The TRIPP LITE Line Conditioner protects you from all brownouts, surges, noise, motors spikes, etc. Not a UPS, but you can add that to your system too if you experience frequent black outs.
