Even higher boosted gpu clocks than stated. Under load, it maintains around 2.75Ghz. I don't game with it, but I render and videos using it's AI capabilities. Such as 4k upscaling and frame interpolation. Upgraded from MSI Ventus x2 RTX 2070 and was very impressed. I can even play 8k HDR 60fps streaming flawlessly with it. Load only hits around 50-60% usage.
-big chungus -runs extremely cool (28C idle, 45-55C ish on load) vs Gigabyte 3090 (40C ish idle, 75+ C load) -Memory junction temperature is almost identical to the core, very cool. -Extremely quiet even on performance mode -Nice design
-solid design -runs no hotter then 65c on 100% load in 1440p -not overly exposing Rgb yet still there for those who want -extremely quiet even under full load 1440p
So far so good, week 2 or 3 into having the card. It's dead silent, monster performance, and good deal with pricing. Some take aways if you're building yourself. Know your caseshades. on and air flow just to be aware of sizing you need. I went from a 3070 to this 4080S and its about the same size. The other consideration is for the power cable with the 3 split which is common with this generation. The other advice would be to get the nvidia app and just make sure you have the latest driver in case you're having some weird issues. Finally make sure you have the appropriate power supply (I'm running a 1000w). I went with the extended warranty through newegg and nvidia has their own just in case but haven't experienced any issues so far. Will post 6 month update .
Excellent, prompt, and supportive
