Works as Expected - Delivery Timeframe Questionable

Newegg Gift Card
Newegg Gift Card

Pros: Works like any other gift card. Can use it in addition to your other form of payment.

Cons: Delivery time is questionable. I wanted to split payment on something, but you can only do that with a gift card and your other method of payment. To get around this, I purchased two gift cards (I didn't do enough on the first one). First one I purchased took 2.5 hours to get (which is within their 1-3 hour self-imposed window, to be fair). The second one I purchased took 15 minutes. 15 minutes is reasonable for email delivery of a digital gift card. 2.5 hours not so much. With the explosion of online shopping over the years (especially during COVID), there is no reason these things shouldn't be delivered near instantly. Dropped an egg for that reason.

Overall Review: If you're waiting on the gift card to be delivered to purchase something, you'll be rolling the dice as to when you'll get it. Other than that, redeeming the gift card was easy enough.

A Decent DVD Burner

Pros: It's a DVD burner and it does it's job. I've only used it probably less than 5 times since I built my rig four months ago, but it seems to be pretty solid. If you're looking for a cheap, decent quality DVD drive just to have one in case you need it, this is the ticket.

Cons: None.

Excellent Card For The Price

SAPPHIRE Vapor-X Radeon R9 270X 2GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 CrossFireX Support OC WITH BOOST Video Card 100364VXL
SAPPHIRE Vapor-X Radeon R9 270X 2GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 CrossFireX Support OC WITH BOOST Video Card 100364VXL

Pros: This has been excellent card so far. I'm able to run Battlefield 4, Battlefield Hardline (Beta), and WoW on high sittings at 1920x1080 with consistent 60+ FPS. It's certainly not a top-of-the-line card that's going to get you 90 FPS on ultra settings, but it's also about half the price of one that will.

Cons: I haven't ran into any cons.

Overall Review: I bought this to put in a mid-range gaming rig. I use it for other things, but I also wanting something I could fire up to do some gaming on as well. This card was the perfect choice for that. I can play games with pretty sweet quality and it didn't break the bank.

Excellent Quality Budget Case

NZXT Guardian 921RB 921RB-001-BL Blue LED SECC Steel / ABS Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
NZXT Guardian 921RB 921RB-001-BL Blue LED SECC Steel / ABS Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: - Slick, solid design. The chassis is made of steel, so it feels very sturdy. - Comes with 3 fans in total. Two with blue LED's and a rear exhaust that doesn't have LED's. There's also room for one additional 120mm fan on the top if you'd like to add one. - Cable management was relatively painless. Much less room, though, and it would have been a bit of a pain. - Temperature sensors and the display on the front are a nice feature. - The clear portion on the side is fantastic. It has kind of gray tint to it, but just enough so you can still see the goodies and lights on the inside. - Plenty of expansion bays. - The front door seems to be pretty sturdy. It's magnetic, which is nice. -

Cons: - Front-facing USB ports are 2.0, not 3.0. Kind of a bummer, but not a deal-breaker for me. I have a few 3.0 ports on the back. - Be careful which video card you try to put in this case. I'm using the Sapphire Radeon R9 270X 2GB and there's not much room to spare between the end of the card and drive bays. - The SSD mounting spot was a bit awkward for me. I was able to get my SSD mounted securely with two screws, but it would have been nice to have pre-cut holes for a 2.5." Not worth dinging an egg for, but worth calling out.

Overall Review: I got this case in a combo deal and I love it. In my opinion, it's a steal for the price. It looks nice, but it's not overdone. Also, there's plenty of room for upgrades.

Great Budget Backlit Gaming Combo

CM Storm Devastator - LED Gaming Keyboard & Mouse Combo (Blue LED Model)
CM Storm Devastator - LED Gaming Keyboard & Mouse Combo (Blue LED Model)

Pros: The backlight is relatively bright, making it easy to see all the keys when the backlight is on. The keys on the keyboard are on the verge of mechanical, but they don't have quite the click that a mechanical keyboard. This is a plus for me, because I don't care for mechanical keyboards. The mouse isn't bad either. I have played around in Titanfall and Battlefield 4 with this combo and it faired pretty well. All-in-all, this combo has been worth every penny for me. Finding a backlit gaming keyboard AND mouse combo at this price point is pretty amazing. Quality isn't bad either for the price.

Cons: Like others have mentioned, the back light toggle is the scroll lock button. The extra keystroke at startup doesn't bother me, but having to have scroll lock on to have the back light on is a bit bothersome. You HAVE to have the backlight on to see the keys. The letters on the keyboard are clear, not a white-ish color like most back-lit keys are. Not a deal-breaker for me, because I like having the backlight on all the time anyway.

Overall Review: I just built my first gaming rig and purchased this combo to go with it. I had just dropped a lot of money on my PC build, so I didn't want to put out a lot of money right now for a mouse and keyboard. This combo saved the say and will get me by for a while until I have the extra cash to buy a nice gaming keyboard and a nice gaming mouse. If you're looking for top-of-the-line, this isn't it. If you're looking for something that's decently quality for a pretty cheap price -- this is your ticket.
