ASUS ROG STRIX X670E-A GAMING WIFI AMD X670 AM5 Ryzen Desktop 9000 8000 & 7000 ATX motherboard, 16+2 power stages, PCIe 5.0, DDR5, 4x M.2 slots with heatsink, USB 3.2 Gen 2x2, WiFi 6E, AI Cooling II

Pros: It looks nice

Cons: - Restart Functionality doesn't work. The system never actually shuts down entirely so it can't restart. - Wireless Chip Doesn't function. No Wireless or Bluetooth connectivity. - Doesn't run RAM at advertised speeds

Overall Review: I thought I would give it a go now that they've had some time to correct issues. I was having some issues with setup and attributed it to my first build on the new platform. Figured AMD must be a little buggy as I'd heard about long memory trainings and whatnot. I plugged my Ethernet cord in and HOURS later I finally got the system to boot. It will not run RAM at the advertised speed on the QVL. Also anytime I tried to restart the computer to check the BIOS, update windows, troubleshoot, etc it wouldn't actually shut down. It started the shutdown process then would hang and wouldn't actually reboot. I had to manually power it off every single time. When you're trying to troubleshoot and test the RAM speeds that can be a massive pain, but I finally got it working and decided to just deal with the odd behavior. Fast forward a month when I wanted to play a game using a controller. Bluetooth wouldn't connect or work at all. Multiple troubleshooting steps and hours later I finally gave up with driver updates/reinstalls and reinstalling Windows 11 entirely. I plugged the controller in and dealt with the next oddity. A few months later I was having connection/speed issues. So I decided to start troubleshooting the Ethernet cord by going wireless to see if the connection and speed issues remained. Well, now I found out that the wireless chip on the board is completely non functional. Oh, and its past the return window and RMA window it seems. Now I'm stuck with a barely functional motherboard that only looks pretty. I have to resort to either buying a brand new motherboard and rebuilding my rig or buying a wifi/bluetooth dongle (not even a wireless card) because the Graphics card is a 3.5 slot card and is blocking the other PCIE slots. I don't know if this is a common issue with the board, but I did find out that the RAM issues are VERY common. Buyer Beware and REQUEST RMA RIGHT AWAY FOR ANY ISSUES YOU SEE AS SOON AS YOU SEE THEM.

Very Loud

ASRock X570 TAICHI AM4 AMD X570 SATA 6Gb/s ATX AMD Motherboard
ASRock X570 TAICHI AM4 AMD X570 SATA 6Gb/s ATX AMD Motherboard

Pros: -Amazing connection with Wifi 6. Over 100Mb/s down and over 10Mb/s up. Only limited by my router and speed from provider. -BIOS is easy to navigate and update -RGB is nice without being excessive but can still match well with other RGB

Cons: -The USB C front connector port is blocked if you have a graphics card plugged into the first PCIE slot, but they are all x16 so easy to move into another slot and still receive full speed. -LOUD! VERY LOUD fan on the chipset. This one fan is louder than the 5 other case fans in my system combined. After tweaking the settings I was able to lower the speed (BIOS update also helped) so the sound did get reduced, but seeing as I use this for Live Streaming, and Voice Recording in general, it is far too loud even at the lower setting. -X570 chipset runs very hot and I've never seen it drop below 61C. Which is why the fan is so loud. It was revving the fan up to above 10,000 rpm before the bios update and manual tweaking. As of writing this with only chrome open the temp is at 64C and the fan speed is at 4600rpm with no overclocking of any sort in the system.

Overall Review: I really do like this board, it has a lot of features which you can see in many review videos. Its solid, and so far been quite reliable. But the excessive volume of the chipset fan is very offsetting and I honestly don't know how to overcome this without some serious case modification in order to reduce the temps so it will run quiet. For reference, I have a Meshify S2 case with the included 2 front and 1 rear 140mm fans, and a liquid cooler for the CPU running 2 140mm fans for exhaust. Air flow is excellent in this case. That chipset just runs way too hot. If you have headphones on at a moderate volume you wont notice it, but if you are recording voice or streaming the sound will cut through. Very disappointed as this is a 300 dollar motherboard and shouldn't have such a glaring issue especially since my intended use is for streaming and recording. My recommendation, if you aren't going to stream or record voice/sound its good. If you want to use it as a streaming and recording pc, you may want to find another board unless ASRock can figure out the sound issue.
