Great Mother board

ASUS ROG STRIX X670E-A GAMING WIFI AMD X670 AM5 Ryzen Desktop 9000 8000 & 7000 ATX motherboard, 16+2 power stages, PCIe 5.0, DDR5, 4x M.2 slots with heatsink, USB 3.2 Gen 2x2, WiFi 6E, AI Cooling II
ASUS ROG STRIX X670E-A GAMING WIFI AMD X670 AM5 Ryzen Desktop 9000 8000 & 7000 ATX motherboard, 16+2 power stages, PCIe 5.0, DDR5, 4x M.2 slots with heatsink, USB 3.2 Gen 2x2, WiFi 6E, AI Cooling II

Pros: Lots of m.2 slots(4 totat), 2 have PCIe gen 5 support top 2 slots, bottom 2 slots are gen 4. 4 SATA III ports for those still running SATA SSD's (like me). Heatsinks on all m.2 slots. Built in WiFi and BT. Supports both D.O.H.C.P (Intel XMP Profiles) and AMD EXPO memory.

Cons: WiFi and Ethernet ports not recognized when installing a fresh copy of Windows 11. no quick connector adapter for the front panel buttons 1 USB 3.2 gen 2x2 type C front panel port 1 USB 3.2 Gen 1 19 pin front panel port (cases with 4 FP USB port will need an adapter card). Expensive

Overall Review: I've used Gigabyte boards for a long time and switched to Asus for my last 2 boards and was impressed with their quality. This new board is no different, yes there are some teething issues like Windows not recognizing your WiFi or Ethernet adapter on a fresh install (either have drivers handy during install or USB tether your phone to setup Windows). CPU install it felt a tad scary when I closed the retention clip, felt and sounded like I was breaking something, there was this very audible creaking sound when locking the retention clip and it was very stiff as well (double checked everything was seated properly before locking the socket retention clip), no issues on boot up or testing. XMP profile took a minute for me to find, it's on the EZ Mode page in the lower left corner, and just above the memory settings in the advanced tab of the bios (I felt dumb for not seeing it the first time...I even clicked on it!) Motherboard priced for this gen (AM5) have gone way up in price compared to previous generation boards this is unfortunately and cost of being an early adopter coupled with companies still dealing with supply chain issues and global inflation. But it's a great board and a perfect fit for the R9 7950x, has a lot of features you'll want without breaking the bank.

Great gaming laptop

MSI GL Series - 17.3" GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU - Intel Core i7-12700H - 16GB Memory - 512 GB NVMe SSD - Windows 11 Home 64-bit - Gaming Laptop - 144 Hz IPS (Pulse GL76 12UGK-256 )
MSI GL Series - 17.3" GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU - Intel Core i7-12700H - 16GB Memory - 512 GB NVMe SSD - Windows 11 Home 64-bit - Gaming Laptop - 144 Hz IPS (Pulse GL76 12UGK-256 )

Pros: Fans are quiet while idle only ramping up under load. Fast 12700H is no slouch when it comes to gaming or general web browsing 16GB ram (expandable to 64GB), enough to run modern games m.2 NVME SSD with additional slot RJ45 port for wired internet 90wh battery

Cons: Fans are loud (12700H and 3070 run hot it's expected) 512GB SSD, small but can be upgraded 10 key is small and cramped, great for a child but not for an adult Speakers are fairly weak Lacks Display port out. Screen colors seem flat and not very vibrant

Overall Review: Been using this laptop for a couple of months now and it's great compared to my previous laptop. Old laptop just ran hot, didn't matter if it was idle or under load it was hot and the rans were lour. Enter the MSi Pulse GL76 12UGK. It's like night and day compared to my old laptop. Overall it's a great laptop that excells at both gaming and productivity. The small HD is can be overlooked due to it being upgradable, the manual states sata SSD but there is no place internally for one nor is there a connector so it's m.2 for SSD's. It running hot is to be expected 12th gen is known to run hot under load and so does a 3070.

Good Budget case

Phanteks Eclipse G360A PH-EC360ATG_DBK02 Black Steel / Tempered Glass ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
Phanteks Eclipse G360A PH-EC360ATG_DBK02 Black Steel / Tempered Glass ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: Built in LED strips Easy to work in

Cons: Not a lot of space for cable management Tight fit if using top or front mounted AIO's (see images)

Overall Review: I chose this case for my uncles computer using my old parts when I upgraded. It's a decent budget case that had a look he wanted and a glass side panel with a subtle led strip running under the glass. There isn't a lot of room on the side to manage cables but for simple builds there is plenty of room and this could easily accommodate a Mini ITX board. I wouldn't add anything other than an AIO in this case as once you get your components in the case there's not a whole lot of room left over. But it was fairly easy to build in. The components in the case are a Gigabyte z170x Gaming 7, Intel 6700k, 16GB G-Skill Trident Z, MSI RTX 2070 non super, and a Corsair H150i Elite Capellix AIO

Great memory

CORSAIR Vengeance RGB 32GB (2 x 16GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR5 6000 (PC5 48000) Desktop Memory Model CMH32GX5M2D6000C36W
CORSAIR Vengeance RGB 32GB (2 x 16GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR5 6000 (PC5 48000) Desktop Memory Model CMH32GX5M2D6000C36W

Pros: It's fast White color matches my PC's white theme Bright LED compared to previous Vengeance DDR4 modules

Overall Review: Corsair has made some great memory in the past and these are no exception. They do not show up as supported on the Asus site for the ROG Strix x670e-a Gaming Wifi but they do work just fine with it, they don't support AMD's Expo, but the motherboard supports the XMP profile of these modules. DDR5 6000 is the sweet spot according to AMD. If you need memory for your new pc these are a great fit for your DDR5 needs. And it's from a company that has been in the industry for a while and is a well-known and trusted brand

Speed Demon!

AMD Ryzen 9 7950X - Zen 4 16-Core 4.5 GHz - Socket AM5 - 170W Desktop Processor (100-100000514WOF)
AMD Ryzen 9 7950X - Zen 4 16-Core 4.5 GHz - Socket AM5 - 170W Desktop Processor (100-100000514WOF)

Pros: It's fast! Chews through multi threaded apps with ease. Can use most of the same coolers designed for AM4 High efficiency per watt

Cons: Can generate a lot of heat! Expensive Early tech teething issues.

Overall Review: Coming from a Ryzen R7 5800x (which is no slouch) I was amazed at the speed of this chip. There are some teething issues to deal with but it's fairly common to have issues with new tech and the bugs will and are being ironed out. I have tried a number of both new and older games and this cpu runs them all with ease, you do need a good GPU to pair with this CPU though or it'll just bottleneck your system. Hot, yes it runs hot, testing with apps like Cinebench R23 and it'll peg 95c (203F) almost instantly, same goes for most other benchmarking apps. But these apps are designed to stress the CPU so take them with a grain of salt. Normal usage is between 50-80c (122-176F), mine hovered around 75c (167F) while gaming, and idle was 40-50c (104-122F). Granted these are with stock settings no cpu OC at all and Corsair Vengeance memory running at 6000Mhz with 36-36-36-76 timings Great CPU if you're looking for an upgrade from previous Ryzen gen CPU's, that is if you can afford it as it is rather expensive, but even the R7 and R5 7000x CPU's are great upgrades in their own right.

It's fast!

Intel Core i7 6th Gen - Core i7-6700K 8M Skylake Quad-Core 4.0 GHz LGA 1151 91W BX80662I76700K Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics 530
Intel Core i7 6th Gen - Core i7-6700K 8M Skylake Quad-Core 4.0 GHz LGA 1151 91W BX80662I76700K Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics 530

Pros: I came from an i5 3570K, this new i7 runs circles around that chip without breaking a sweat. Got it as part of a bundle with G.Skill memory and a Gigabyte Gaming 7 board. Dropped it in attached my H110i GTX, and noticed an immediate increase in responsiveness. Entered the bios and with a few changes had it running at 4.6GHz.

Cons: none that I can think of currently.

Overall Review: It's a worthwhile upgrade if you're coming from a 3rd gen or older CPU, or even an AMD. But if you're coming from say a 4th or 5th gen the performance is negligible. This chip overclocks easily to 4.4 - 4.6GHz with minimal effort.
