Mille Pro vehicle subwoofers are designed to deliver outstanding performance in a small package. Using the expertise established with Mille Legend, the R&D team has improved the production process to bring the Hertz Sound Experience to a larger audience by using some of the flagship lines technology and materials. The MP300D 2.3 cone is manufactured by compressing paper pulp and injecting mineral powders, similar to how the Legend cone is made. The V-cone® design adds stiffness to the cone, allowing it to behave like a piston. High-purity IIR-butyl rubber is used for the surrounding materials.
The Mille PRO subwoofers, like the Legend ML 2000.3 and ML 2500.3, are created using Boundary Free Surround technology which allows for a larger emission area with an equal diameter, resulting in more sound pressure. The MP300D 2.3 s tiny 6-spoke aluminium alloy anti-resonant basket contributes to the subwoofers mechanical dampening while remaining completely transparent to the sound. The 65-mm 4-layer voice coil has a diameter of more than 60 mm and is wound in a TIL-P former, resulting in considerable linear displacement. The DVC impedance of 2 + 2 promotes adaptability and can be used with any amplifier system.
With three advantages, the air cooling and decompression method eliminates the requirement for a centre hole on the bottom plate:
Improved thermal inertia to keep operating temperatures down during musical transients
Enhanced magnetic field created in the coil while keeping the overall motor dimensions the same. As there is more iron in the pole, the risk of magnetic saturation is reduced, allowing the magnet to achieve its maximum flux density
The MP300D 2.3 subwoofer can be mounted directly on the box wall, maximising the space available. The subwoofer is secured to the box with a dampening rubber disc that also allows air to flow through the 10 vents underneath
The 10 vents on the bottom plate and the holes behind the voice coil winding ensure that more air gets to the inner layers of the coil, and they function in tandem with an innovative construction mechanism. Even with the most intensive musical programs, it forces air to move through the air gap to keep the coil at working temperatures. To provide ultra-low wire resistance in low impedance designs, the terminal uses solid push connections with an antishort circuit cover that accept cables up to 8 AWG (1ohm).
