Tripp Lite’s B093-008-2E4U 8-Port Console Server provides secure, remote access to in-band (primary network) and out-of-band (alternate channel) serial- and network-connected devices, such as routers, switches, firewalls, PBX systems, UPS systems and PDUs. With redundancy-providing dual Gigabit primary and failover Ethernet ports, it offers reliable connectivity and can be used in a wide variety of applications, including server rooms, wiring closets, branch offices, retail environments and other remote sites where quick resolution of network issues is critical.

Connect one of the B093-008-2E4U’s serial ports to an external modem, like a Multitech MT9234MU-CDC-XT or US Robotics USR5637, to receive out-of-band (alternate) access when remote sites experience network failure.

Features a Built-In Firewall and Network Forwarding

Each of the B093-008-2E4U’s gateways can port forward to an unlimited number of locally networked computers and routers. Those devices can then IP connect through the console server to devices on remote networks. Also included are a built-in stateful firewall and embedded DHCP server to host a separate LAN for critical traffic.

This advanced console server provides the utmost in security with support for the following standards: PCI DSS 3.2, FIPS 140-2, SSL and SSH, stateful firewall, Open VPN and IPSec VPN. Its embedded FIPS 140-2 OpenSSL cryptographic module meets F1PS 140-2 regulations and has received Certificate #2473.

To connect to Cisco devices, the B093-008-2E4U’s eight serial RS-232 console ports use standard, off-the-shelf Cat5e/6 patch cable, which integrate easily with industry-standard directory servers using TACACS+, RADIUS, LDAP and Kerberos authentication. This console server also provides 4 Gb of internal NAND flash memory, which does not require power to retain data.

Includes USB Console and Digital I/O Ports to Support Newer Devices

Four USB 2.0 console ports allow the connection of newer USB-enabled devices, like Tripp Lite’s wide variety of LX Platform PDUs and UPS systems. Two digital I/O (DIO) ports are also included for connecting drive relays, alarms and other compatible devices.

Compact Design for Simple and Convenient Mounting

The B093-008-2E4U’s heavy-duty steel housing includes mounting brackets for easy installation in 1U of an EIA-standard 19-inch rack. Its fanless form factor also allows desktop deployment on four included rubber feet that help prevent the unit from sliding.
