Introducing the SteelSeries Apex, a gaming keyboard designed to enable users to react quickly, move strategically, and customize performance for every game. Beyond just choosing from 16.8 Million colors, the Apex features SteelSeries ActiveZone lighting, a visual support tool allowing the user to independently customize each of its five zones and in multiple macro layers.
Small bumps on the W-key provides a faster return to WASD. When you quickly have to type a message or execute a command, we want to make sure that you find your way back to WASD as quickly as possible without having to look.
We added two arrow keys for a bit of extra directional convenience.
Apex is made up of sleek lines and low-profile keys that bring together beautiful form and optimized function.
The macro keys above the F-keys feature a raised design that allow you to locate them without looking and execute devastatingly fast key combinations. Simply swipe your finger down from the macro key onto the F-key for quick key combinations.
The Apex features 22 independent macros keys that are each capable of up to 4 layers. This equates to 88 potential macros. Of course, much of the keyboard is also programmable making for an enormous total of 504 programmable keys.
Switch between macro layers quickly and easily thanks to four quick-access keys on the upper left corner that allow you to select your desired macro layer.
Featuring 16.8 million color illumination in five independent zones and eight levels of intensity that you can configure differently for each of your macro layer, for endless customization.
The Apex features five independent color zones that are each capable of 16.8 million colors. These can be customized to create a unique color scheme for each of your macro layers. This allows you to quickly determine which macro layer you have enabled and help you find groups of your macros according to their color. Imagine a yellow theme for harvest macros, blue theme for defend macros, red for attack macros and more. The possibilities are limitless.
Simply hold down the SteelSeries key and tap the Windows key to disable it. This simple key combination will disable and enable the windows key without the need for software or complicated menus.
The special SteelSeries key on the right hand side of the key lard allows you to access special functions like disabling the Windows key.
With the Apex, we left the windows key on the left side of the keyboard for commands and shortcuts that are frequently used when not gaming.
The SteelSeries Apex and Apex (RAW) gaming keyboards support anti-ghosting for 20 keys located in the most-used gaming areas on the keyboard. Out of these 20 capable keys, users can press up to six of them simultaneously, allowing those key presses to register and without locking the keyboard.
SteelSeries has chosen 20 of the most commonly used keys in games in the anti-ghost key list:
- 1, 2, 3, 4, 5
- Q, W, E, R, A, S, D, F
- Left-Ctrl
- Left Shift
- Space bar
- The four arrow keys
There’s no need to install software of any kind in order to use the Apex. Without software many features will work including disabling of the windows key and more. However, for the full experience and for the gamers who want really advanced customization options, the Apex is supported by SteelSeries Engine technology.
