An all-round athlete, this drive is capable of handling virtually all read-only, write-once and rewritable BD/DVD/CD media, including quad, triple, double layer BD-R discs. It also supports M-DISC, a type of medium which uses rock-like material to record data, for much longer archival life than standard DVD media using organic dye. You can play 3D Blu-ray movies, or DVD classics, or other multimedia content, and the Silent Play technology recognizes the media type and adjusts the playback speed for best balance between acoustics and performance.
