The water cooler has been optimized to dissipate the enormous waste heat properties of this graphics card generation in the best possible way. The fin structure has been adjusted and the nozzle plate modified to allow better water flow and optimal water distribution on the cooling fins. Technical HighlightsThe fin thickness of this generation of ice block coolers is 0.4 mm, as is the distance between the cooling fins. The jet plate has a revised inlay that distributes the water pressure better to the fins and optimizes heat absorption.
The adjusted water flow helps the water to achieve a better inflow angle. Chrome-Plated CopperThe radiator base is made entirely of chrome-plated copper, which is more resistant to acids, scratches and damage than nickel plating. Chrome-plated radiators have so far only been used in the industrial sector to cope with extreme influences on the radiator. In addition, chrome plating looks much more homogeneous and offers a shine that cannot be achieved with nickel plating. DesignThe Aurora design of the Geforce RTX 40XX ice block generation is visually calmer and simpler. The cooler is enclosed by a single O-ring.
The construction around the cooling fins and the jetplate ensures a clearer look. The lighting of the digitally addressable RGB LEDs is even better distributed in the cooler thanks to the chrome plating. The shape of the terminal corresponds to the classic Aurora design. Thermal Compound & Thermal PadsIncluded is Alphacool's Subzero thermal compound, which is one of the highest performing thermal compounds on the market. In addition, Alphacool Soft Pads with a thickness of 1 mm are used for the voltage converters and the graphics memory. The pads for the back of the PCB are 3mm thick.
